MUSICARES GALA NEWS & PHOTOS
The 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Neil Young was held January 29 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Kenny performed in the house band backing a star-studded cast of musicians including John Mellencamp, James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, Stephen Stills, Jackson Browne, Elton John, Leon Russell, T Bone Burnett, Crosby Stills & Nash, Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, Lady Antebellum, Ben Harper, Josh Groban and others, all performing songs by Neil Young. 2010 MUSICCARES 20th ANNIVERSARY GALA
Kenny will perform in the house band as part of an all-star lineup at the 2010 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute to Neil Young, on January 29, 2010 in Los Angeles. He’ll play in a rhythm section performing with John Mellencamp, James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, Stephen Stills, Jackson Browne, Elton John, Leon Russell, T Bone Burnett, Crosby Stills & Nash, Emmylou Harris, Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, Lady Antebellum, Ben Harper, Josh Groban and others.

The MusiCares Person of the Year tribute is one of the most prestigious events held during Grammy Week. The evening will begin with a special reception and silent auction, followed by a gala dinner sponsored by MasterCard, an award presentation and a star-studded tribute concert. Proceeds from the 20th annual Grammy Week event will provide essential support for MusiCares, which ensures that music people have a place to turn to in times of financial, medical and personal need. GUITAR CENTER DRUM-OFF FINALS - FRIDAY, JANUARY 8
Kenny will be a judge at Guitar Center's Drum-Off Finals, the world's largest and longest running search to find the nation's top undiscovered drummer. Five finalists will compete in front of a capacity crowd at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on January 8, and one talented drummer will win a prize package worth more than $40,000 and the title of "Guitar Center's Drum-Off Champion."

Beating out more than 4,000 other drummers in several rounds of local and regional competitions over the past several months, the finalists will face the final round of competition judged by a panel of drum celebrities including Kenny along with Peter Erskine (Steely Dan), Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Drew Hester (Foo Fighters / Joe Walsh), Thomas Lang, Jason Sutter (Chris Cornell), John Tempesta (The Cult), Tony Royster Jr. (Jay-Z), Nisan Stewart (Jamie Foxx / 50 Cent) and Ray Luzier (Korn).
