GUITAR CENTER DRUM-OFF - JANUARY 10, 2009
The 2008 Guitar Center Drum-off finals will be held Saturday, January 10 at the Music Box at Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Kenny will be among the judges along with Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins, Tool's Danny Carey, No Doubt's Adrian Young, and Avenged Sevenfold's The Rev. Six candidates from a field of 5,000 have survived contests at hundreds of Guitar Center stores across the country to compete at the finals. Prizes include $25,000 cash, $20,000 in gear, custom-designed kits, endorsement deals, and a feature in Modern Drummer. The evening will be hosted by Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins, and will feature performances by Jason Bittner of Shadow's Fall, Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden, and an exclusive collaboration by The Mars Volta's Thomas Pidgeon and Thomas Lang. Papa Roach will perform a headliner set.
"LIVE FROM DARYL'S HOUSE" WEBCAST
Kenny plays with Daryl Hall and special guest Kevin Rudolf on the latest episode of Live From Daryl's House. The monthly internet webcast from his residence in New York features Daryl performing with friends and colleagues, including the latest in up-and-coming artists as well as veteran acts. JOHN FOGERTY CD and DVD DUE IN 2009
Two new John Fogerty releases are due out in 2009. Both feature Kenny on drums and include a new album, titled John Fogerty: The Return of The Blue Ridge Rangers, and the DVD John Fogerty: Comin' Down the Road. The DVD chronicles the concert at London's Royal Albert Hall, which took place earlier this year, as well as his life and career. An exclusive video preview can be seen on JohnFogerty.com.

WALTER TROUT CD NOMINDATED FOR BLUES MUSIC AWARD
Walter Trout’s critically acclaimed 2008 release The Outsider is nominated by The Blues Foundation and the Blues Music Awards for Rock Blues Album of the Year. The album features 13 Walter Trout originals with a backing band including Kenny along wih bassist Hutch Hutchinson, pianist Jon Clearly, and Skip Edwards. The 30th Blues Music Awards will be held May 7, 2009 at the Memphis Cook Convention Center in downtown Memphis, TN.
2008 KENNEDY CENTER HONORS - TUESDAY, DEC. 30 ON CBS-TV
Kenny performs at the 2008 Kennedy Center Honors Gala airing on CBS-TV on Tuesday, December 30 (9 PM eastern). As part of an all-star band in a tribute to Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry of The Who, he performs with singers Joss Stone, Chris Cornell, Dave Grohl, Rob Thomas and Bettye LaVette. And in a tribute to George Jones he performs with Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Shelby Lynne, Brad Paisley, and Randy Travis.
Also receiving the Kennedy Center Honors at the gala held on December 7 in Washington DC, were Morgan Freeman, Barbra Streisand, and Twyla Tharp.. The Honors gala is the Kennedy Center's most important annual fundraising event, supporting its performing arts, education, and outreach programs.

Kenny joined an all-star group of musicians for the latest Camp Freddy show at the Roxy in Los Angeles on December 16. He played double drums along with Matt Sorum and performed with the Camp Freddy band including Dave Navarro, Billy Morrison, Chris Chaney, and special guests Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Steve Lukather (Toto), Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Wes Scantlin (Puddle of Mudd), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), Brett Anderson, Billy Duffy (The Cult), and Darling Stillettos. "JOHN MELLENCAMP: HOMEWARD BOUND" SPECIAL - DEC. 11, 12 & 14
A&E’s Biography (BIO) Channel's documentary special "Homeward Bound: John Mellencamp" will debut Thursday, December 11, 2008. The 90-minute program visits Mellencamp’s hometown of Seymour and features interviews with band members including Kenny, as well as childhood friends and other key people in his life, along with archival footage, personal photos, and bonus concert performances. According to producer Anthony Uro, the documentary “really gives viewers an in-depth look at the John Mellencamp most people don’t see, because it’s not only about John, the successful rock star, it also paints a very detailed picture of John’s early life and career before he was famous, and the people, places, and events that shaped him as a person and as an artist.”

"HURTS SO GOOD" IN BILLBOARD HOT 100 SONGS OF ALL TIME
John Mellencamp's "Hurts So Good" is #83 in Billboard Magazine's Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs. The song, with Kenny on drums, reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and spent 16 weeks in the top 10 in 1982, the longest stretch for any song in the 1980s. It also won a Grammy for best male rock vocal performance. Billboard recently released the list to celebrate the Hot 100 chart's 50th anniversary.

John Fogerty, with Kenny on drums, performed along with rock
legends Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard at the 50th Annual Grammy
Awards show on February 10, 2008 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Broadcast
live on CBS-TV, the "Cornerstones of Rock" segment was a highlight
of the show. John's latest album Revival was nominated for
a Grammy in the Best Rock Album category.

JOHN MELLENCAMP ELECTED TO ROCK AND ROLL HALL
OF FAME
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced that John Mellencamp has
been elected for induction. The ceremony will take
place on March 10, 2008 in New York City. Also selected for induction
in the 2008 class are Madonna, The Ventures, Leonard Cohen and The Dave
Clark Five. To be eligible, artists must have issued a first single
or album at least 25 years before nomination. A panel of 600 industry
figures select the acts to be inducted at the annual ceremony. Kenny was a member of John Mellencamp's band from 1980 to 1997, touring with him and recording albums including American Fool, Scarecrow, Uh Huh, The Lonesome Jubilee, Whenever We Wanted, Dance Naked, Big Daddy, Human Wheels and others.
